Since 2008, all companies that are subject to regular auditing (Swiss Code of Obligations CO Article 727) have an Internal Control System (ICS) at their disposal (CO Article 728a). The Board of Directors is responsible for the creation of an ICS. The design and regulation of the ICS are the responsibility of the Executive Committee. Swiss law only regulates the specific design of an ICS in its basic features. The individual implementation is often associated with added costs for the individual company.
